H2020 PHYSICS Cloud/Edge and Openwhisk nodes

The collection contains a set of node-red nodes that aim to aid in various aspects of a Cloud/Edge application. They can assist in application development, workflow or execution management as well as usage of Node-RED as an orchestration mechanism. Many of the nodes have been designed for usage in combination or within the open source Openwhisk FaaS platform, however they can also be used as standalone nodes in a typical Node-RED server environment.

The collection also includes helper nodes of a more general nature, such as polling to pushing converters, async API result acquisition, load generation for performance testing etc.

Compared to our initial collection, involving subflows that can be found here, this collection has packaged the implemented logic as node-red nodes. This aids in better packaging and installation, at the expense however of the ability to customize the main subflow implementation behind the node. Thus if one needs to customize the subflow, they can use the subflow way of importing, whereas one that needs to automate installation and usage can use the node way of importing.

The research and implementation leading to the results presented in this collection has received funding from the European Union's Project H2020 PHYSICS (GA 101017047). For more info visit https://physics-faas.eu/
