vhv5-verification-reporter 0.3.15

Node-RED node for reading VHV5 websocket MessagePack payloads with a multi-tab editor UI.

npm install vhv5-verification-reporter

VHV5 Verification Reporter

vhv5-verification-reporter provides a Node-RED node for connecting to an Omron VHV5 verifier over websocket, decoding the verification payload, and generating a PDF verification report.

The package installs one node:

  • VHV5_Verification_Reporter (vhv5-websocket-iso-parser-multitab)

Example flow

After installation, import VHV5 Verification Reporter Example from the Node-RED editor's Import → Examples menu. The example contains the reporter node and separate Debug nodes for its parsed-data and PDF-report outputs.

Set the reporter's Host / IP to the VHV5 address, select the applicable ISO format, then deploy. The node connects to the VHV5 automatically; it does not require an Inject node. Local report saving is disabled in the example so it can be imported safely. Enable Save Locally and choose a writable folder when PDFs should be retained on the Node-RED host.

Behavior

  • Connects to websocket
  • Fetches http://<host>/api/config to read calibration values used in the parsed output
  • Parses VHV5 verification results for ISO29158, ISO15415, or ISO15416
  • Writes PDF reports to a user-selected folder
  • Can optionally save the decoded JSON beside each generated report

Outputs

The node has two outputs:

  1. Parsed verification values in msg.payload
  2. Generated PDF report buffer and file metadata in msg.payload

Example output topics:

  • Output 1: vhv5/parsed
  • Output 2: vhv5/report/pdf

Editor Tabs

  • Connectivity: node name, VHV5 host, save folder, receive timeout, reconnect delay
  • Batch Processing: batch mode, batch prefix, idle timeout, save decoded JSON
  • Format Report: ISO format and report documentation fields
    • make sure the ISO format matches that on the VHV5 otherwise a mismatch error will populate

Installation

Run this in your Node-RED user directory, typically ~/.node-red:

npm install vhv5-verification-reporter

For local development:

npm install <path-to-this-folder>

Notes

  • The package now only includes the verification reporter node and its supporting libraries.
  • The websocket port and config API path remain fixed in the runtime implementation.
  • patched the crash in previous V3.12 causing node red to terminate
