V430 WebSocket Barcode Node

Node-RED node for streaming barcode reads from an Omron V430 over WebSocket.

Installation

Install with npm:

npm install v430-barcode

Restart Node-RED and add V430 sBarcode from the omron category.

Behavior

• Connects to the fixed V430 endpoint
• Decodes text WebSocket frames and binary MessagePack frames.
• Sends the decoded barcode on output 1 and the complete event metadata on output 2.
• Starts the WebSocket client only when Enabled is selected.

Configuration

Example Flow

Import examples/v430-barcode-example.json into Node-RED, set the V430 host address, then deploy. The flow sends the barcode and metadata outputs to separate Debug sidebar entries.

Output 2 sends the complete event metadata under msg.payload. Output 1 also includes the decoded frame at msg.raw_event.

Local Development

1. Run npm install in this folder.
2. Run npm test.
3. In your Node-RED user directory, run npm install <path-to-this-folder>.
4. Restart Node-RED.

Publishing

This package includes the Node-RED manifest, public publish configuration, README, license, and runtime/editor files required for palette discovery. Authenticate to npm, then run:

npm publish

After publishing, install the package from npm in the Node-RED user directory. Palette availability through catalog search depends on Node-RED catalog indexing of the package name.
