node-red-contrib-tasmotas
Support for Tasmota devices in SmartHome projects using Node-RED.
The goal of this project is to allow using and configuring devices flashed with Tasmota firmware in Node-RED.
Getting Started
Prerequisites
- Node-RED - see the installation guide
- Node.js >= 18
- An MQTT broker (e.g. Mosquitto) reachable by both Node-RED and your Tasmota devices
Installation
cd ~/.node-red
npm install node-red-contrib-tasmotas
Then restart Node-RED.
Concepts
Each physical Tasmota device is represented by a Device config node, which in turn references a shared MQTT Broker config node for the MQTT connection. Flow nodes (Switch, Light, Sensor, ...) reference a Device node and can be placed multiple times across different flows.
Optionally, a project-wide Manager node can group and manage all Tasmota devices on the local network: it can discover device IP addresses automatically, and download and cache device configurations locally. The Manager's functions (list devices, scan the network, send raw HTTP commands, ...) are accessed from a flow through one or more Config nodes.
RF (433 MHz) devices follow a similar pattern: an RF Bridge node represents a Tasmota RF bridge device, an optional RF Manager groups RF codes/timings across bridges, and RF Device nodes represent individual remotes/sensors.
