@lfgdotgm/node-red-lfg-alarm 1.0.0
Ring a real alarm on your phone, and your friends' or team's, from a Node-RED flow with LFG Alarm.
@lfgdotgm/node-red-lfg-alarm
A Node-RED node that rings a real alarm on your phone, and on your family's, friends' or team's, with LFG Alarm. Use it when the garage door is left open, a sensor trips, a server goes down, or a long job finishes.
On Android the alarm rings full screen like any alarm; on iPhone it arrives as a time-sensitive alert with the alarm's sound.
Install
In Node-RED: Menu > Manage palette > Install, search for @lfgdotgm/node-red-lfg-alarm. Or from your Node-RED folder:
npm install @lfgdotgm/node-red-lfg-alarm
Node-RED 3.0 or later, Node.js 18 or later.
Set it up
- Install LFG Alarm on your phone (Google Play or the App Store) and sign in.
- Make a 🔮 Anything alarm and name it for what it watches, like "Garage door is open". Copy its private link (
https://api.lfg.gm/horn/...). Anything alarms need a paid plan; see lfg.gm for plans and pricing. - Drop a lfg alarm node (in the network section) into a flow and paste the link into it. Anyone with the link can ring the alarm, so it is stored as a credential and never exported with the flow.
Anyone who joins the same alarm in the app is rung too.
How it behaves
- Any message rings the alarm. Its contents are not sent: LFG Alarm shows the alarm's own name, sound and button. Put a switch or filter node in front to decide when to ring.
- Output:
msg.payloadis{ rang: true, wokeUp }when it rang. - Rang moments ago: an alarm waits out a short cooldown after each ring, so a burst of messages is one ring. Those messages come out as
{ rang: false, retryAfterSeconds, message }. - Switched off in the app: comes out as
{ rang: false, message }. - Wrong link or LFG Alarm unreachable: the node raises an error you can catch with a Catch node.
An example flow is included: Menu > Import > Examples > @lfgdotgm/node-red-lfg-alarm.
