@advatek-community-labs/node-red-pixlite-mk3 1.0.0

Community implementation of PixLite Mk3 SHOWTime playback control and device discovery for Node-RED.

npm install @advatek-community-labs/node-red-pixlite-mk3

PixLite Mk3 for Node-RED

Control SHOWTime scenes, playlists and playback on PixLite Mk3 controllers.

Node-RED connects devices, events and services through visual flows. This integration is for installers, lighting operators and automation developers.

Community-maintained by Advatek Community Labs, without formal Advatek Lighting support.

Features

  • Play a Scene or Play a Playlist; Play, Pause and Restart current scene.
  • Skip to previous scene or Skip to next scene within a playlist.
  • Select Live Data, Blank or Freeze.
  • Read status and media; discover and connect multiple controllers.

Controls existing content. Media creation/upload, controller configuration, recovery, firmware updates and pixel streaming are outside its scope.

Setup and guides

Install in your Node-RED user directory:

npm install @advatek-community-labs/node-red-pixlite-mk3 --ignore-scripts

Restart Node-RED, then import a flow from Menu > Import > Examples > the PixLite package.

  1. Use a commissioned controller with existing scenes/playlists. Node-RED and the controller normally need addresses in the same subnet. Enable Operator under User Management in the PixLite Management Interface.

  2. Open the controller configuration. Choose Discover devices > Use selected device, or enter its IPv4 address and choose Identify device. No MAC entry is needed. Reuse one configuration per physical device.

  3. Enter Operator Password and an absolute OpenSSL path to OpenSSL 3.5.x on the Windows Node-RED host. Keep verified HTTPS, port 4443 and the Advatek Mk3 device certificate profile. Empty Trusted CA PEM uses the bundled root.

  4. Try Read media and Read status, then choose your Scene Name or Playlist Name before playback.

The weekday example imports enabled; review its 18:00/23:00 times before deploying.

Further setup, examples and error guidance are included in the installed package's docs directory and each node's help.

Advatek management guides describe the controller interface.

Supports the PixLite Mk3 family using API v1.9.
